Kentucky Traffic Collisions

Louisville, ky - one killed in wrong-way crash on i-65Every year, the state of Kentucky sees a significant number of traffic accidents. In one recent year, over 125,000 traffic collisions were reported throughout the Bluegrass State. Unfortunately, auto accidents are a prevalent problem throughout the United States, taking place over 6 million times per year.

Auto collisions can happen for countless reasons, ranging from car problems and road conditions to driver negligence. At this time, negligent driving is the most common cause of the majority of traffic accidents in the US, causing over 94% of reported wrecks. Driver distraction is the most common, behind more than 400,000 crashes per year. Speeding is another common type of negligence, taking the lives of approximately 11,000 individuals annually. Other common forms of negligent driving in the US today include exhaustion and intoxication.

When semi-trucks become involved in traffic accidents, severe injuries and even fatalities often occur. Because semis are approximately 20 times larger than the average passenger vehicles, when the two collide, serious destruction often occurs. In one recent year, over 500,000 semi-truck accidents were reported across the United States, a large percentage resulting in serious injuries or death.

When you or someone you love has been hurt in a traffic accident, it is never easy to recover. You may find yourself stuck in the hospital with painful injuries that can cost a fortune in medical bills. The average cost of an ER visit today ranges from 3,000 to 4,000 dollars. A prolonged hospital stay can cost tens of thousands, which can be too much for anyone to tackle on their own.
