Louisville, KY – Teen Killed, Another Injured in Collision on Natnl Tpke

Louisville, KY (January 8, 2025) – A teenager lost their life, and another was sent to the hospital with injuries after a traffic accident in Louisville. Reports show the incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, in the 10300 block of National Turnpike in Fairdale. Police say a vehicle occupied by two people that had been reported stolen was traveling near the Jefferson County line at approximately 3:50 a.m. They attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver left the scene at a dangerous speed. Police did not pursue the vehicle but then saw sparks approximately half a mile down the road. Officers then found an overturned vehicle on the National Turnpike. One male teenager lost his life at the scene, while another was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital with injuries. Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
